N.B. Starting from version 1.6 of ACC, the pressure window with which the Pirelli tire offers the optimal level of grip has narrowed. Indeed, in the presentation of the new physics of the simulator on youtube, Aristotelis Vasilakos (vehicle dynamics developer of Kunos simulations) in dry track conditions indicates an optimal pressure range between 27.4 and 28.0 psi. When returning to the pits, it is possible to monitor the temperature on the inside (I = inside), in the center (M = middle) and on the outside (O = outside) of the tires. Keep in mind that the temperature difference between the inner side and the outer side of the tires must not exceed 9° C at the front and not exceed 5° C at the rear. By regulation, in fact, GT3 cars use electric blankets to preheat the tires up to a maximum of 70° C (for more information see here). Whenever you start a qualifying session or a race, the temperature of the tires is approximately 65° C. This guide goes through every aspect of your GT3 class car setup (for information on tuning GT4 cars, click here). It will show you how to properly change the setup and explain how each change will affect the performance of your car. It will also help you understand which points to focus your attention on, such as ideal tire pressure and more.īelow are explanations on how each aspect contained in the tire setup section affects the car’s behavior (and also what you should aim for for a good tire setup).įor optimal performance, you should aim for tire pressure between 27.0 and 28.0 psi (1.86 ÷ 1.93 bar) during the race (as explained here), although Pirelli indicates that the pressure is optimal 29.0 psi (almost 2 bar). As for temperatures, the slick operating window is very wide (from 40° C up to 130° C dry tires offer decent grip) however, the optimal range is narrower and is between 70° C and 90° C. Unlike some racing games (F1 2020, Forza Motorsport 7, Gran Turismo Sport, etc …), Assetto Corsa Competizione has a much higher amount of car tuning options that you can get your hands on. If you’re just starting out and don’t understand at all how each configuration change affects the car’s behavior, don’t panic. The admin on Sim Sport Racing Adam Isailovic aka Skaven Zverov, on the official ACC forum, has created a very useful setup guide for beginners of this simulator. Switching to Assetto Corsa Competizione for the first time is a daunting prospect. The learning curve is objectively steep and the driving physics extremely realistic and hardcore. Many things will cause a headache and discourage new ACC players, including the safety rating, which is the system for evaluating the correctness of a driver when he is in a fight with an opponent, important for accessing most online servers. This is the perfect guide for new simracers or for those who want to start modifying their car setup on Assetto Corsa Competizione. With the release of the console version of ACC, many drivers who use these platforms have purchased the Kunos simulator. This has led to a huge influx of new players online, which is great for the ACC community!
